WelcomeAugust 11, 2010 The summer has been busy time for the League, we had a very successful and well attended joint meeting between New Hampshire and Vermont associations. There were speakers who provided us with information on the national scene that will directly affect us as private investigators. The NCISS and ISPLA were both well represented and provided us with up to date information as well as answering many questions. Governor John Lynch signed into law, HB 651, the PI Bill, into law. This new law was a huge milestone for the NHLI and its many representatives who worked tirelessly for years to see this come to a successful ending. Headed by Jordan Ulery and assisted by John Healy with backup from so many others that I’m afraid if I tried to mention them all I would forget someone and I do not want to have that happen. We will be working very closely with the Department of Safety/State Police to help with the administrative rules and the advisory council that will be coming up. The Dept of Safety/State Police worked side by side with us for this law to be accepted by all and to help make private investigators in New Hampshire that much more professional. We as an association have come a long ways since the kitchen table at Loren Magee’s where this all started. We are making strides but there is so much more to be done. Our website is a constant work in progress; we are reaching out to other associations, working cold cases and so much more. While we are in the planning stages of our annual meeting with the date to be set soon, we are asking for all of our members to start getting their calendars out and get ready to mark the date. We are working on a good day of training for all that attend along with the election of officers to lead our association during the upcoming year. Both the Maine and Massachusetts association have training seminars planned for this fall. I attended both seminars the past few years and they are exceptional times for training as well as networking. Keep an eye on this webpage for changes and a new “members only” page.
